The Commissioners Court of Delta County, Texas convenes in Regular Session on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 9:00 AM. The regular meeting site of the Delta County Commissioners' Court is the third floor Commissioners' Courtroom at the Delta County Courthouse, located at 200 West Dallas Avenue, Cooper, Texas, 75432. The site of the meeting may change due to public access accommodations or for matters of general convenience. All notices of meetings are posted in accordance with Chapter 551 of the Texas Open Meetings Act.
Agenda Item Request Form:
Agenda request forms must be approved by either the County Judge or a County Commissioner before being placed on the agenda.
Public Comment Participation Form:
Individuals wishing to make public comments at Commissioners Court meetings are required to complete the Public Comment Participation Form. You may obtain this form from the County/District Clerk in person prior to meeting. Public Comment is governed by the adopted Rules of Procedure, Conduct, and Decorum of the Commissioners Court.
Duties of the Commissioners' Court
The commissioners court conducts the general business of the county and consists of the county judge and four commissioners.
The court:
- Adopts the county’s budget and tax rate
- Approves all budgeted purchases of the county
- Fills vacancies in elective and appointive offices
- Sets all salaries and benefits
- Has exclusive authority to authorize contracts
- Provides and maintains all county buildings and facilities
